Basic Penalty Enforcement Rule 10

Enforcement Spots: Previous spot Spot of the Foul Succeeding Spot End of the Run Postscrimmage Kick Spot (PSK) Applies only to Team B fouls on scrimmage kicks when – Not during a try, successful FG, or extra period; Ball crosses NZ; Foul occurs before the end of the kick; Team B will next put the ball in play.

To Determine Enforcement Spot: Specified in the statement of the penalty Three-and-One Principle Must know the Basic Spot (Rule 10-2-2d) Team in possession commits foul behind basic spot, enforce penalty at the spot of the foul. Team in possession commits foul beyond basic spot, enforce penalty at the basic spot. Team not in possession commits a foul either behind or beyond the basic spot, enforce at the basic spot.

Information Needed to Enforce A : Live Ball Foul: (Standard Scrimmage Downs) Previous Spot End of the Run Spot of the Foul Dead Ball Foul: Succeeding Spot

Additional Information for Enforcement Does foul include: Loss of Down (LOD) – 5/2/2 {9 fouls} 5 fouls → 5 yds + LOD 2 fouls → 10 yds + LOD 2 fouls → NO yds + LOD Automatic First Down (AFD) Team B Fouls Personal Fouls – UNR & UNS DPI DH (possibly)

Team A, 1 & 10 @ A-35. RB A33 takes a handoff from A12 and runs to the right side of the formation toward the sideline. During the run, A88 grabs and restricts B25 at the A-40 just as A33 breaks off the block. A33 is tackled at the A-46. Team A, 1 & 15 @ A-30

Team A, 2 & 10 @ A-40. A80 catches a pass at the A-48 and runs to the 50 where he is hit and fumbles. B28 recovers the fumble at the 50, advances, and is tackled at the A-35. B99 is flagged for roughing the passer A12 after the pass was thrown. Team A, 1 & 10 @ B-45

Team A, 1 & 10 @ A-40. QB A12 takes the snap and rolls to the left and is at the A-38 when he tosses the ball to A88 who is running to the right at the A-35. As A88 continues to run to the right, he is under pressure by B99 at the A-34. A88 throws the ball downfield and OB so that it lands at the 50 yd line extended. Team A, 2 & 16 @ A-34

Team A, 2 & 13 @ A-27. QB A12 drops back in the pocket and looks to throw a forward pass to A80. B25 pulls A80 off his route and forces A12 to tuck the ball and run. A12 runs to the A-29 where he is hit and fumbles. A69 recovers the fumble inbounds at the A-31 Team A, 2 & 1 @ A-39

Team A, 1 & 10 @ A34. QB A15 takes a shotgun snap and drops back Team A, 1 & 10 @ A34. QB A15 takes a shotgun snap and drops back. RB A22, who was lined up in the backfield moves to help RT A78 block B99. While A78 is engaged with B99 high, A22 blocks B99 at the thigh at the A-31. A15 completes a pass to A88 who runs out of bounds at the B-33. Team A, 1 & 25 @ A-19
