Windows 10 Mail Application Do not use this on FHC computers! Closing the application leaves your settings and email still active Instead, use a browser to access your email
Google Accounts and Google Chrome When you sign into your Google Account using Google Chrome, that sign-in remains active until you sign-out. Closing the browser does not automatically sign you out.
Google Chrome Sync Google Chrome has a default profile that contains settings for bookmarks, webpages that load on startup, passwords, etc. These profiles are called “People”; a specific profile is a “Person” If you sign into your Google account, you have the option to overwrite this default profile using a feature called “Sync”, which copies settings from your home computer to your current computer Even after you log out, the overwritten settings remain Do not do this on FHC computers!
Pop-up vs Message Box vs System Modal Pop-up: an entire webpage that is launched as a new tab or window Some pop-ups are not blocked if they are launched by a direct user action Message Box: A box that hovers above a webpage, usually alerting the user to something System Modal Box: A box that hovers above a webpage, usually surrounded by a grey-ed out background that prevents you from interacting with the webpage beneath until the user completes and action

Family Tree – Details Page Launching Ancestry When launching an Ancestry record search from within the Family Tree details page, sometimes nothing happens Normal process: Click on Ancestry (or Ancestry Institution) System modal box appears (only the first time) Click on “OK” A pop-up windows appears as a new tab with the search results for Ancestry
