Dialogue Task – Use your Dialogue Rules Keeper Use your dialogue rules keeper to complete the dialogue task. You may work in groups to ensure you are editing correctly.

October 7, 2019 Use the answer sheet to check your answers. Log on the computer and pull up your Dialogue Task in 365. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sb0L3KH6YGY Remember the voices you are creating should be in keeping with the time period. The characters are well educated, affluent British people, so their language would sound formal like the dinner conversation we just watched. What types of information might be found in dialogue between Mr. and Mrs. Wynnes? Discussions about the servants, guests (An American guest is unusual), who should sit by whom, etc. Do NOT give the plot away in the beginning. What do we know about the characters from the story? Return to your dialogue you wrote in 365 for Friday’s task. The task is explained on the next slide. Edit and complete your dialogue. You must have 10 to 12 lines of dialogue. Remember, to start a new paragraph with each new speaker.

Friday’s Task – 365 Dialogue Task Using third person omniscient, create dialogue that takes place before the story begins. The dialogue will be between Mr. and Mrs. Wynnes. Remember, this is a time period when people spoke in a more formal tone. Given their station in life, we can assume they are affluent and well educated. You should concentrate on using words that will help create character traits for Mr. and Mrs. Wynnes. Make sure to build on Mrs. Wynne’s traits that we already know she possesses. Use your dialogue notes to determine dialogue rules. If you need additional help, you may also look in a book you are reading to view examples of dialogue.
