ROAD SAFETY How do you get to school? To the park? To visit friends? To clubs? How can you make sure that you get to these places safely?

WALKING

Stay close to an adult and hold their hands near traffic. Always walk on the pavement if there is one Think carefully about where to cross the road Use the GREEN CROSS CODE

CYCLING You MUST wear a helmet that fits Your feet must touch the ground when you’re sitting on your bike Get an adult to check your brakes, chain, lights and handlebars Use cycle lanes Do BIKEABILITY training as soon as you can

Travelling by Car Get in and out of the car from the kerb side, not the side facing the road Shut the door properly Always use a car seat or the seat bet – IT IS THE LAW Never lean out of the window Don’t distract the driver or block the rear view mirror
