MISSION STATEMENT To provide a unique social network of Women Veterans to foster connections and build relationships in local communities across the nation.

OVERVIEW WoVeN connects women Veterans of all eras and branches. WoVeN specifically seeks to help women Veterans find one another and empower each of them with valuable education and resources to improve their quality of life. Tara Gaovski (Director) and Amy Street (Co-Director).Tara and Amy are both Associate Professors with Boston University School of Medicine as well as Director and Co Director of Women’s Health Sciences Division of the National Center for PTSD within the VA. The Womens Division mission is to advance the understanding the psychological impact of military service on the lives of Women Veterans. No other Peer Support Network: Specifically designed to meet the needs of Women Veterans Encompass the full range of Topics identified by Women Veterans as central to improving quality of life Provide content developed by national experts Provide a sustainable social network at both the local and national level for further information regarding the research behind th program please saee handout on table and or contact woven staff -

WoVeN GROUPS An introductory session Consists of 8 weekly meeting run by certified Peer Leaders. Groups consist of approximately 6-8 women Veterans and each session lasts approximately 90 minutes. The group experience is complemented by evidence-based online resources vetted by national experts in women Veteran health sciences. While at this time locally we are running groups for those enrolled in the Pensacola Joint Ambulatory Care Center. WoVeN is not a VA Program. An introductory session 6 meetings focused on 6 core themes Final Meeting - Celebration

WOVEN GROUP CONTENT SESSION OUTINE Group content is specifically tailored to the unique needs of women Veterans, centering around relevant themes: Transitions & balance- learn how to successfully navigate lifes twists and turns Stress relief- discover strategies to reduce stress and its impact on your life Connections- taking steps to improve existing relationships and build new ones Healthy living- Information on health related topics and how to make health changes Esteem- Explore how your views of your self and others impact different areas of your life

MOVING FOWARD First group in the State of Florida completed July 19th Group Members established “Alumni” Facebook page for Pensacola area Coming Spring 2020- Community based WoVeN group for student veterans. Currently looking for participants as well as location within the Community Group continuing even after last session Groups Members participating in Apprentice Program to expand access second GROUP STARTED Jul 23
