What is the Renaissance? WRITE THIS DOWN A cultural revival that swept through Europe from the 1300s – 1500s. Renaissance means “rebirth”. - Love for art and education -Interest in Ancient Greek and Roman works revived

What are the Origins of the Renaissance? WRITE THIS DOWN Began in Italy Italy was the crossroads of trade between Northern Europe and the lands of the Middle East and Africa. Growth of trade promoted a free flow of ideas (new way of thinking). Contact with the Middle East led to knowledge of science, math, and classical Greek and Roman learning.
