Store Numbers by Trading Brand Shoprite had a net opening of 18 stores in HY2019 Shoprite remains the largest trading brand with 49% of the Group’s Supermarket brand store share with 657 stores of which 1731 are in Non-SA across 14 countries The 12 months to December 2018 saw 31 stores open and 5 close Checkers opened a net 6 new stores in HY2019 (No new Hypers, however many of these are being/have been refurbished) The Checkers portfolio is 227 Checkers stores and 37 Checkers Hyper Checkers has 81 stores in 2 Non-SA Checkers and Checkers Hypers account for 20% of the Group’s Supermarket brand store share Usave account for 31% of supermarket store numbers for the Group Net 9 new stores opened in HY2019 Usave has a total of 409 stores of which 571 are in 8 Non-SA countries SOURCE: Shoprite Holdings NOTE: 1variance due to timing – data off website
