Permit Tracking Events Welcome to the Permit Tracking Event module.

These Events are captured in ICIS-NPDES as Permit Tracking Events Many Events occur during the life-cycle of the Permit that affect the Permit Status These Events are captured in ICIS-NPDES as Permit Tracking Events Many events occur during the life cycle of the permit that can affect the Permit Status. These Permit Tracking events are captured in ICIS NPDES.

A Permit Tracking Event is either Manually Entered Added to ICIS–NPDES by the user For example, State Certifies Final Draft Permit System-generated Triggered automatically by ICIS–NPDES when specific data are entered against the Permit For example, important Permit dates Issued Effective Expired A Permit Tracking event can be entered manually or system generated based on data entered into ICIS. An example of a manually entered tracking event is the State Certifies Final Draft Permit that is keyed into ICIS. An example of a permit tracking event that is automatically created when data was entered on another screen is the important permit dates of permit issued, effective and expiration.

General Foods Permit Tracking Events Let’s view the permit tracking events that were automatically generated when we created our Training permit. Notice the important permit dates each have their own event and on the right you can see that Yes they were system generated.

Add Permit Tracking Event hyperlink Let’s go and add another permit tracking event. Click on the add permit tracking event hyperlink.

Permit Tracking Events – Manually entered There are numerous Permit Tracking events available for you to track. We will enter the Draft Permit to Public Notice. On this screen the required events are noted with an asterisk. Event Date and the Permit Tracking Event. A comment field is available but keep in mind that any information added in this field could be released to the public. Save the record.

Draft Permit out for Public Notice You can verify that the permit tracking event was added and will know that it was manually entered because no is in the system generated column.

Can I make corrections to the Permit Tracking Events? Y / N Can you change the Permit Tracking Event Dates? Did you make a guess for each event?

Permit Expiration date Permit Effective date Notice the Event dates are hard coded and cannot be changed.

Draft Permit/Public Notice Permit Issued Date Draft Permit/Public Notice Notice the issued date cannot be changed; however the Draft Permit/Public Notice can be changed. Are you noticing a trend?

Once a manually entered Permit Tracking Event exists in ICIS– NPDES, only the event date and comments may be edited by the user Once a system-generated Permit Tracking Event exists in ICIS–NPDES, only the comments may be edited by the user You would be able to change the event date and comments for any manually entered permit tracking event. System generated permit tracking events only allow a change to the comment field.

I thought the Permit Issued Date could be changed….. From reviewing the Permit Basic module, I thought the permit issued date could be changed. Yes, it can be changed. You will need to go back to the Permit Basic Info screen and make the change on that screen.

Permit Issue and Effective Date can be the same day While it is best if the Effective Date is on the first day of the month, you will be able to modify the initial monitoring period start date on the limit set to ensure that DMRs are printed properly and that expected DMRs are generated correctly This question comes up from time to time. Can the permit issue and effective date be on the same day. Yes the can. It is best to have your limits start on the first day of the month. If the effective date of your permit is not the first day of the month you will be able to modify the inital monitoring period start date on the limit set to ensure that DMRs are printed properly and the expected DMRs are generated correctly. Permit Tracking Events

Application/NOI Complete Permit Tracking Event Source Date Application/NOI Complete The date the permitting authority determined the application is complete. This date is entered on the Permit. Application/NOI Received The date the permitting authority received the application. This date is entered on the Permit. Permit Continued Calculated by system based on Expiration and Current Dates. This confirms the Permit was administratively continued. This chart will show the Permit Tracking event and the source date. Whether the date is entered or calculated based on dates entered for other events will be explained.

General Overview – System Generated Events List Permit Tracking Event Source Date Permit Issued Issue Date on the Permit. Permit Reissued Reissued Permit’s Effective Date. Permit Expiration Expiration Date on the Permit. Permit Effective Effective Date on the Permit. Permit Retired If the Permit is reissued prior to its Expiration Date, this is the day before the Effective Date of the new Permit. Permit Termination Termination Date on the Permit. This is a continuation of the chart. If you would like to practice entering some other permit tracking events or modifying the date to the draft permit / public notice, go ahead and do so. This concludes our discussion of permit tracking events. Permit Tracking Events
