Can I dispense if there is no doctor on the premises? We have been asked by another dispensing practice if we know of any restriction on having the dispensary open if there is not a doctor on the premises? for example if they are out doing their visits or starting surgery later that the usual opening time. We are not of aware of such regulation but having been asked the question would be grateful of some clarification on the matter.

What stops me from selling OTC and GSL products?

How many months supply can I dispense for a patient going on holiday?

Can I issue medication to a non-dispensing patient when the local pharmacy is shut? Dispensing Query - Hi, One of our GP's has mentioned that they have been told that dispensing practices are allowed to dispense acute antibiotics for non-dispensing patients. Can I ask if this is correct as I hadn't come across it before?

Can I set up Repeat Dispensing for my Dispensing patients?

Can we issue Hospital/Dental FP10s? as a Dispensing practice if our dispensing patients present with an NHS prescription (FP10 format) that has been prescribed by an NHS dentist, hospital out patient clinic, community mental health etc. are we able to dispense it please?

Final checks for CDs- what are the regulations?

I would be grateful for advice please regarding dispensing patients that choose to have their prescriptions sent to a Pharmacy. To avoid the prescription defaulting to the dispensing Q we've been asked to change the status of the patient to non dispensing. Is this something you would recommend for dispensing patients given that it would reduce our dispensing list size?

Delivery - Also, with Boots now proposing to make a charge for this service is this something dispensing Practices could also charge for?

Dossette Boxes - Can we apply a charge for supply medication in these?

A patient has requested he collect his script from us and takes it to a pharmacy rather than us dispensing it here (following a minor problem where his drugs were not ready for collection when he expected them). So our question is whether it is within our remit to decide on this as a practice policy, or do we have an obligation to still occasionally dispense from here if the patient requests it, even if they have opted to nominate another pharmacy as their main pharmacy?

We have been notified by our CCG that we have' a contractural obligation' to sign up for EPS. They have demanded a response today. Please an you kindly give me guidance regarding this.

Good Afternoon, I have been asked by the partners to seek some advise from you regarding a recent business proposal. We have been approached by a company called *********Ltd, a pharmaceutical distributor that specialises in purchasing pharmaceutical stock from dispensing practices and distributes it to their UK based pharmacies. They are willing to assist us in obtaining a wholesale license in order to sell to them and offer a percentage return on all stock will sell to them. The partners are keen to know if this practice is supported by the DDA and in fact if it is common practice within dispensing doctors in order to generate an additional income for the practice.

Good Afternoon, We use the repeat dispensing system for suitable patients registered with our local pharmacy. My GPs are inquiring whether repeat dispensing is an option for dispensing patients. I'm under the impression that repeat dispensing is part of the Community Pharmacy contract and that we can't use it for dispensing patients. Please could you offer some clarification. Many thanks
