Safety first!

Math, math, more math If math is a challenge, ask for more help! Before school If before is a challenge, I can sometimes arrange (in advance) to stay after NHS tutor

Chemistry Grading Scale Research Chemistry Grading Scale Test (45%) Quizzes (15%) Quizzes (10%) Labs and Activities (30%) Labs and Activities (10%) Formative (10%)   Research Based Assignments (25%)

When will I have homework? Students will be expected to complete homework assignments for every class period. Why? Homework should be completed before class and should adhere to the RVHS Honor Code. Students are encouraged to see Ms. Catalfamo before school for support with homework BEFORE the assignment is due.

What should I do if I am absent? Check Google Classroom for copies of notes, make-up assignments, & homework. Assignments due the day you were out are due the first day you return to Chemistry class. If you missed a test, be prepared to take the test the day you return to Chemistry class. You have as many class periods as you were absent to make up your missing work (e.g. if you missed one class period, you have until the next class period to hand in assignments given while you were out).

Where can I find…? Grades: check Phoenix (ParentVUE) What I missed in class: Google Classroom Extra copies of assignments: Google Classroom The homework: Google Classroom When we have labs, tests, quizzes: Google Classroom

How to stay organized: Unit packets & graded work should be organized in your Chemistry binder / folder. Do not throw them out! We will revisit topics. Complete your homework for each class and the corresponding study sheet section in class the day it is due, even if you are absent. Homework & reflections are designed to be completed daily, not all at once!

How to get support (because chemistry is hard) Before school 8:15 – 9 am. E-mail before 9pm the night before. If I am not going to be available, we will set up another time to meet. You can also see another chemistry teacher. Sign up for an NHS tutor Ram Jam SNHS help sessions Ask any chemistry teacher for help Ms. Hunter: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday 8:15-9 am Ms. Lee: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 4:05-5 pm

LATE WORK: Late Work Policy for non-Test/Quiz Assessments.  Scores on late assignments are graded up to the maximum percentages listed. 100% - Turned in on time. 90% - Turned in one school day late from posted due date. 80% - Turned in between two school days late and ten school days late from posted due date. *Late work beyond the ten school day period will be accepted for a grade based on teacher discretion.
