Region 5 in a Nutshell Challenges Goals Resources Requested Officer turnover every 1-3 years with little transition or information transfer Getting new members to attend events due to geographically large cities in most of our region Lack of knowledge of GOLD for new members Market events as IEEE “Young Professionals” Goals Save and share resources on website for better knowledge transfer Keep current sections active, and work on revitalizing non-active GOLD affinity groups Continue an annual officer training/meet-and-greet for GOLD chairs in the region Resources Requested One standard GOLD website instead of each region having their own Best Practices (if any) Touch base with GOLD chairs in the region at least once a month 12/8/2019
