Summer of 1969: President Nixon announces troop withdrawals Bombings in North Vietnam continued

November of 1969: Americans learn of the My Lai Massacre American soldiers rounded up and shot between 200 and 500 Vietnamese civilians Helped fuel the antiwar movement in the US

April 30, 1970: President Nixon announces that the US had invaded Cambodia Done to cut the supply lines of the Vietcong Did not ask Congress for permission Inspired mass protests across the US
