Lauren can facilitate the consensogram… 2 to 3 minutes

Continuous Improvement: Using PDSA to Improve Support Process Results Indicate the level of knowledge you have in developing and implementing QFIC as a measurement tool. 1 Know what QFIC is but unsure how to develop a rubric 2 Know what QFIC is but don’t know why I should use it 3 Know what and why, but don’t know how to implement QFIC 4 Ready to apply QFIC to identified instructional strategy FACILITATOR NOTES: Lauren The consensogram will be prepared before the training. This consensogram will be used to establish a baseline Go up to the chart and place your red dot in the appropriate area This consensogram will be used again at the end of the training to determine progress toward the learner outcmes.   Jim Shipley & Associates, Inc. Learner Outcomes Understand how to develop a Quality, Fidelity, Intensity and Consistency (QFIC), rubric to measure an instructional strategy. Refine our understanding regarding how QFIC can be used for continuous improvement. Estela share and clarify the intended learning outcomes 1 minute

QFIC Review Quality: With a high degree of skill, excellence, or effectiveness; implementing in ways that encourage high levels of participant engagement and that accomplish the goals. (Paint the picture of what you want to see-What?) Fidelity: In accordance with the core components: research-based findings and/or guidance of the innovation. (The Steps–How?) Tara review information and provide an example from your own school. 10 minutes

Each school will submit their QFIC by March 9th QFIC Review Intensity: With focus and commitment to providing participants with the recommended exposure to the components of the innovation. (time) Consistency: In the same way over time, maintaining established standards of quality, fidelity, and intensity. Each school will submit their QFIC by March 9th Tara review information and provide an example from your own school. 3 to 5 minutes

Quality The purpose is to make intangible concepts of quality accessible to teachers.  When teachers are a part of the QFIC rubric development process, they will better understand what quality looks like for the product, process, or performance they will be working on. Quality QFIC rubrics may stay in draft form for the duration of the implementation due to content revisions and refinement. If teachers do not understand the rubric, they run the risk of inaccurately assessing their performance.   Once we establish what components go into the quality section of the rubric, the next step is to articulate what it takes to achieve it. Tara review information and provide an example from your own school. 3 to 5 minutes

Example Time With a partner look at one of the QFIC rubric examples provided and/or your own and respond to the following questions: Describe the process you have or will use to develop a QFIC rubric which aligns to a instructional strategy . Describe how your school uses or will use QFIC measures to monitor progress toward your instructional strategy. Share your successes and/or challenges in developing and/or using a QFIC Rubric? School to School Visit Purpose The purpose of the school visit is to promote professional learning framed within our continuous improvement structure. Through focused dialogue, our collective efforts and sharing of intangible assets we are able to improve practices that spur learning actions for both schools. Administrators on the CIT work Team: Lisa, Kim, Lauren, Jody, Barb and Cherryl Lauren: Share the purpose and rationale for the school to school visit. The only difference this time around is the focus is on QFIC.

April S/S Dialogue Norms Complete the protocol Through focused dialogue we will examine our current improvement practices to ensure alignment between the identified instructional strategy and QFIC as the assessment instrument. Dialogue includes an analysis of how QFIC is used to measure the instructional strategy for effectiveness including classroom walk through templates with embedded QFIC. Norms Complete the protocol Contribute to substantive discussion Stay focused; manage time well on CIP and discussion By making our work public, school teams are exposing themselves to critiques they may not be used to. Please have an awareness of the tone and/or tenure of comments or questions Lauren: Remind folks that they will complete a sign-in sheet like last time and CeAnn will send out an electronic survey. We will have the hardcopies ready.
