International Symposium on Wireless Systems and Networks (ISWSN’03) Presentation by Dr. Samir Al-Baiyat Dean, Faculty of Engineering, KFUPM

Background ISWSN’03 was proposed in 2001 to be held in March 2003 and every two years thereafter. It was proposed that ISWSN’03 will be jointly sponsored by KFUPM, IEEE (Saudi Section) and Saudi Industry. Areas of submission will be Multimedia Broadband Access, 2G to 3G migration path, signal processing (antenna arrays, MUD, advanced receivers), Coding, Wireless Networks, emerging technologies, WLANs and Protocols etc.

Critical Dates May 31, 2002: Last date of submission of extended abstracts June - September 30: Paper Reviews October 15, 2002: Date of acceptance Letters December 20, 2002: Camera ready papers in. March 24-26: Date of Symposium

Progress so far! Received 66 papers from 20 countries Papers have been sent for review (two reviews per paper). Two parallel Sessions over 3 days are planned. Work on tutorials has started (4 proposals have been submitted. 8 to 10 tutorials are planned.
