I am a 31 year old father of 3, 4 x Extreme kayak world champion, owner of Rotorua Rafting and Waka Kayaks. My life path has been carved from the experiences I have had within Okere Falls, especially on Okere awa. I owe everything I have acquired in life to the area, from meeting my wife at the Okere store, to having my first job and learnt skills that have taken me to all corners of globe Being born and raised in Okere I have a very strong desire to see this taonga keep it’s natural character but am also excited to see positive development that enhances the area and creates an even better place for my children and my mokopuna. With this in mind I have dreamt of creating a tour to help even more people find a new path in life whilst sharing Okere’s Manaakitanga . Everyday I am stunned by the sheer wonder that is Okere Reserve, the beauty never grows old. Spending countless hours drifting down the Okere, I always imagine the view soaring over it like a Kereru. We’re blessed to have the ability in this day and age where we can create such tours to gain this perspective. Not only can we achieve this but we can do this in a sustainable and educative way that would have a positive influence on the world and more importantly Okere Falls, ensuring Kaitiakitanga
