Implications: Embraces challenges Persists in the face of setbacks Sees effort as way to improve Learns from criticism Carol Dweck (2008)

Marking Work is marked in relations to WALTS – we are learning to. Teacher-child conferences- a lot of marking is done verbally, with the child present. This is indicated as VF in books. Children respond to marking and work on challenges to deepen their learning.

Assessment Assessment takes on a variety of forms. Teachers make observations from class discussions and group work. Peer and Self Assessment. Summative Assessment at the beginning and end of each unit of maths learning.

Home learning Home learning will be given on Thursday and is due back on Wednesday. Every week: Reading daily Spellings Times tables rockstars 1 maths or English task linked to learning (30 minutes) Brain Builders twice a half term. We will aim to put it on the website where possible – under learning.

Learning through inquiry and using Brain builders at home * Begin by connecting to children's prior knowledge. * Allowing children to create meaning. *Questioning, exploring, wondering, researching, experimenting. * Children taking action on their learning –please share as we love to hear about this. * Differentiation. * Extending learning outside the classroom – Brain builders.
