Bullying Bullying is unwanted, aggressive behavior among school aged children that involves a real or perceived power imbalance. The behavior is repeated, or has the potential to be repeated, over time. Bullying includes actions such as making threats, spreading rumors, attacking someone physically or verbally, and excluding someone from a group on purpose. (stopbullying.gov)

Your Role in Bullying #1 in your Planner’s “General School Rules” is: “Report bullying and inappropriate behavior to adults to protect yourself and others.” Most effective attitude/action to combat bullying is to not participate in it, not support it, and mostly to stand up to it!! (This can be done in many ways.)

Internet Safety

Social Media Hard to avoid/ Many forms Important for students to learn responsibility re: independently navigating the internet* yet guidance is needed Out of school actions still affect school and can be dealt with by the school!!! Common Sense Media.org https://www.digitalcompass.org/game/

Dismissal Safety 3pm Flagpole Courtyard (safe space to use cell) Pickup/go home plan….? M11 Bus/walking home

Tips Put your phone away after leaving the courtyard. If you need to take it out again, step into a safe space/shop/etc. Don’t run!/Stay to the right Go straight home/to your afterschool program Walk in pairs/groups ASK FOR HELP!!
