How to do the measurement thing

Which ruler is the most confident?

Measurements: Estimation Digit Step 1: Find what each line represents (i.e. 1 cm, 0.1 cm etc.). Step 2: Take the measurement using the lines, write your answers down Step 3: Finally, add one extra ‘guessing’ or ‘estimation digit’ to the end of your answer (this is called the estimate digit)

Measure the leaf using the 3 rules (ruler is in cm) Step 1: Each line is 1 cm Step 2: The leaf passes 3 lines, so I write “3 cm” down. Step 3: I add my estimation digit to my answer, “3.4 cm”

Measure the red line using the 3 rules (ruler is in cm) Step 1: Each line is 0.1 cm Step 2: The leaf passes the 2.3 line, so I write “2.3 cm” down. Step 3: I add my estimation digit of “5” to the end of my answer, “2.35 cm”

Read the temperature in Celsius

Measuring Liquid Liquid adheres to the side of measuring containers. It forms a ‘u’ shape. This is called a meniscus When measuring, we must measure the liquid from bottom of the meniscus
