How does the movie make you feel? Mood and Emotion How does the movie make you feel?

How do movies make you feel? Every movie gives of a particular emotion or feeling We call this mood Look at these two posters: What are the moods and emotions that you could attribute to them? Using the vocabulary list, how can we describe these movies? When finding the mood, consider: colors, animation style, music, genre, acting styles, setting, and events in the plot. How do movies make you feel?

Mood through Images Images can make us feel a certain way. Colors gives us certain emotions: Black is used to represent death or evil White stands for life and purity (or also death) Red can symbolize blood, passion, danger, or immoral character Purple is a royal color Yellow stands for violence or decay Blue represents peacefulness and calm

Feelings in Objects Objects can give feelings: A chain can symbolize the coming together of two things, or being bound to something A ladder can represent the relationship between heaven and earth or ascension A mirror when it is broken can represent brokenness in life A cross sometimes represents purity or innocence

Map a Movie Plot In groups, choose a movie that you are familiar with. Choose a movie with a strong character that has character development. On a piece of paper, draw out a plot line, but instead of telling about the movie, tell about the character and what happened to him, her, or it. Make sure to be specific.
