Expectations Two way process Learn from each other Sharing good practice is a key factor for improvement Highlight the strengths of processes and find points for improvement Develop a “best practice” approach to transition

Expectations From SSIF project: Improve attendance Reduce exclusions Improve outcomes for disadvantaged/vulnerable students

Matters arising from last meeting Timeline/key dates – Thanks to Tracy Reflect on areas for dev and progress made? Feedback from primaries/parents? Queries?

Information from Primary schools Do you send a spreadsheet to be completed? If so: What information do you request? What do you do with this information?

Information from Primary schools What information do we actually use? Group exercise – tick sheet – need vs do not need

Transition process Ticksheet/questionnaire – do you do/have? Group exercise – tick sheet – need vs do not need

Transition process Needs to have/compulsory Even Better If……………………. Group exercise – tick sheet – need vs do not need

Vulnerable students? What do schools do to assist their transition? Is this above the “normal” transition programme What about in-year admissions/FAP? Who’s responsible for them? What about transition between yeargroups?

Impact What is the IMPACT of a good transition programme? How can we measure this impact?
