This webinar offers a mapping tool to help you determine if your work falls within a low-income area The purpose of this webinar is to assist applicants properly identify the proposed site location and economic status

SNAP-Ed is one of nine funders SNAP-Ed is one of nine funders. Although all funders support the backbone, in the next cohort SNAP-Ed will not fund grantees directly and instead will only provide backbone support to SNAP-Eligible grantees. This will not impact the award process. However, SNAP-Ed may be able to offer eligible grantees additional resources such as additional training and technical assistance. Therefore it is important for HCN to accurately capture the communities and sites we will be working with.

SNAP-Ed SNAP-Ed is the educational component of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as “food stamps”. The goal of SNAP-Ed is to improve the likelihood that persons eligible for SNAP will make healthy lifestyle choices that contribute to lifelong health and wellness. Provides hands-on cooking classes and nutrition education, Provides training and technical assistance to support Policy, Systems, and Environmental (PSE) change.

Implementation Location Early Childhood Education Program (Head Start/Early Head Start, 50% or more of the children are receiving child care subsidy,50% or more of the children are participating in the Child and Adult Care Food Program, 50% or more of the children are receiving Medicaid). Focus on policy and practice Staff training and parent engagement Access to healthy foods Access to physical activity

Implementation Location Automatic Eligibility: Sites/Sponsors participating in the Summer Food Service Program Food Pantry Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and/or satellites Head Start/Early Head Start Affordable Housing Development
