The crash occurred during routine training operations Wednesday night around 10:30 p.m. ET. "We have aircraft going out to Yuma training ranges on a weekly basis, and they go out there primarily because the aircraft mimics what they will see in Afghanistan," Dooley said. "We won't know exactly what happened until the investigation is complete, and we can't make any assumptions right now," said 1st Lt. Maureen Dooley, a Marine Corps spokeswoman. "This tragedy serves as another stark and sad reminder of the peril our men and women in uniform encounter on a daily basis -- not only abroad, but on our own soil.”

In Other News Federal authorities may be conducting their own investigation involving Penn State and the sexual abuse allegations against Jerry Sandusky. Sandusky, a former Penn State assistant football coach, is already being prosecuted by the Pennsylvania state Attorney General's Office over allegations that he sexually abused young boys over a 15-year period. Opening statements are scheduled for Friday in the case of a former Rutgers University student who allegedly used a webcam to stream footage of his roommate's sexual encounter with another man. Dharun Ravi faces a 15-count indictment, which includes hate crime charges, in connection with the death of Tyler Clementi, Ravi's roommate. Clementi killed himself after the incident, jumping from the George Washington Bridge between New York and New Jersey. Last year, Ravi turned down a plea deal that would have allowed him to avoid jail time.
