Session 1: Challenge Create a work of art that shows an imagined version of a place in the future that has changed over time. This can be a literal place (such as New York City, your school, or your bedroom) or a metaphorical place (such as your state of mind or emotions).

What was the world like in the past? How is it different today? Past Vs Future What was the world like in the past? How is it different today? What has changed?

Challenge: Create a work of art that shows an imagined version of a place in the future that has changed over time.

Agenda Sketch, at minimum, 7 different versions of a place in the future. REMEMBER, this can be a literal place (such as New York City, your school, or your bedroom) or a metaphorical place (such as your state of mind or emotions). After sketching 7, select the one you think is best. Write out in your sketchbook, in at least 3 sentences, why you want to choose that particular sketch to use for your final artwork. (Note if you chose to do a utopia, dystopia, or merely an imagined place.)

Reflection Have you completed your sketching ideas and selected the one you’d like to create? Did your group activity help you to develop ideas?

NEXT CLASS Watercolor begins!!!
