MEETING CALENDAR: Web-meeting held on January 17th 2019 Meeting held in Rome (IT) on 26 – 27th February 2019 Web-meeting held on May 15th 2019 Meeting held in Washington-DC (US) on 9 – 10th July 2019 Web-meeting held on October 3rd 2019 Meeting TO BE held in London (UK) on 22 – 23rd January 2020

What WG47 is doing? Data Sharing (countries, national associations, manufacturers data) Determination of Root Causes & Clustering Country Efforts Review on National Standards Proposals & Studies Presentation Determination of Approach & Pathway for Possible Modifications Procedure writing Round Robin Tests & Finalization of Proposal Providing proposal to TC 61 for standard change UP TO NOW NEXT

Next Action Items of WG47: Capacitor: The proposal from WG5 covering capacitors (61c/791/DC) and the compilation of comments (61C/797/INF) documents have been reviewed. WG47 members have the consensus to implement the same CDV (only specific part for capacitors) of IEC SC61C to dryer standard proposal for part 2-11. PCB: To wait until the stage of CDV approval to have more mature stage of proposal from WG40 In the meantime, WG40 members will inform WG47 about the status accordingly

Next Action Items of WG47: Self combustion & Fluff accumulation: Two studies are proposed by IT NC during Washington meeting. It has been focused more on containing the fire inside the appliance regarding potential fire sources (fluff accumulation, component failures etc). During the meeting it has been focused on different type of dryers as vented, condenser and heat pump to define the contributing factors for both load and base fire containment tests and to determine the applicability with exceptional conditions. The determination, where the lint is accumulated, has been agreed to be standardized also to have repeatability approach. A lint generation test procedure that was presented by US NC is circulated and under consideration to may be further applied as Round Robin Test. AHAM was considered to be the association to organize RRT and collect & evaluate the outcomes as independent body.

Next Action Items of WG47: WG47 request from TC61: To update the scope of WG47 from: To collect and analyse data on fire hazards of tumble dryers toward determining the root causes of such fires To develop a proposal to address the relevant risks for discussion during the second meeting of TC 61 in 2019. to: -Standard update(s) to improve fire protection in tumble dryers -To analyse the risk for different types of dryers and create test procedures for acceptance CURRENT SCOPE PROPOSED SCOPE
