An article chosen by the AVID team is assigned on newsela.com. Tuesdays An article chosen by the AVID team is assigned on newsela.com. Students have an entire week to read and take a 4 question quiz on the article. If a student scores below a 50% on the quiz, they will only receive 7 out of 10 points in the portal.

College Wednesdays 1st Semester~ Research a college or trade school of your choice. Research is done as an assignment in the google classroom. 1st Semester~ Create a slideshow using 10 facts from your research. 2nd Semester~ Present your slideshow to the class.

Thursdays Second Step

Fridays Agenda Checks Students will receive 4 points a day for filling out the homework in each of their core subjects for a total of 20 points a week.

The advisement grade is based on the following: 20% Newsela.com articles 40% Agenda Checks 40% Class Activities, College Wednesdays and Second Step.
