ORDERING TRANSCRIPTS: RMHS uses Parchment program for Transcripts Students will need to set up an account and send Official Transcripts when you apply to a college and again at the end of your Senior Year Parchment Transcript Tutorial Video below https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=84QdeQm6rOw This slide is an example of SPGP I.B.8. SENIOR CALENDAR/CHECKLIST SEPTEMBER ~ Establish an appropriate email account to communicate with colleges and FAFSA – free accounts available at www.gmail.com Create a College Application File Folder where you keep copies of all of your College Documents Check the ASB, Counseling, & Career Center Pages weekly for important Graduation Information & updates. “Like” Rancho Mirage High School Counseling on Facebook.

COLLEGE ADMISSIONS TESTS SATs & ACTs- Must register by Nov. and must take by Dec. 2019. Accepted at all colleges & universities. Study guides available & Khan Academy May be no-cost if you qualify for a fee-waiver. You must have submitted your Nutritional letter to Ms. Patty (in front of Ms. Ballard’s Office) for the Fee Waiver. See your counselor for a fee waiver if eligible.

EARLY DECISION & EARLY ACTION Apply to colleges of your choice by deadlines & select Early Decision or Early Action on your application. Early Decision Rules: Only commit to ONE school when choosing Early Decision, usually this is your 1st Choice College If you commit to Early Decision with a school, you must attend that school You will know, usually before the end of the Fall semester if you are admitted to your Early Decision school choice

OCTOBER Oct. 4th- Quarter 1 Ends (Q1 Edgenuity classes need to be completed) Oct. 8th- (Mandatory) Attend RMHS UC/CSU & FAFSA Info Night @ 6:30p.m. in the HGPAC (English) or Room 402 (Spanish) Oct. 9th- Create your FSA I.D. through social studies classes Oct. 9th - Parents/guardians should all have personal email addresses created by this date & an FSA I.D. # of their own Oct. 10th – Create California College Guidance Initiative (CCGI) through ELA classes CSU application submission October 1 – November 30, 2017 https://www2.calstate.edu/apply ~ No essays in application Common Application – submission deadlines vary www.commonapp.org ~ Essays & Teacher and/or Counselor Recommendation Letter

COLLEGE & CAREER KICK-OFF DAY 4 SENIORS OCTOBER 16, 2019 FAFSA/DREAM ACT WORKSHOP- Please bring your FAFSA or DREAM ACT worksheet to school already completely filled out on October 16th!!!

HOW DO I PAY FOR COLLEGE...?? Federal Aid State / School Aid FAFSA closes on March 2nd (Come prepared on October 16th w/Paperwork to complete FAFSA & DREAM ACT App!!!!) DECEMBER ~ Sign-up for the ASVAB in the Career Center if you are interested in joining the Military. The week of Dec. 2nd, meet with your counselor if you are interested in going on a Shortened Day second semester (must meet requirements) Dec. 6thth- Submit RMHS Local Scholarship personal essay to Ms. Henderson in the Career Center. Dec. 17th -20th - Semester 1 Final Exams- Finish Strong!! Dec. 20th - Semester 1 Ends!

GRADUATION DAY: Wednesday, June 3, 2020 APRIL You should be notified about acceptance by this date When you choose a 4-year college, you will need to pay a non-refundable admissions deposit to hold your place in the Freshman class. Be sure to follow through with Community College steps for enrollment MAY May 1st: Notify your College of Acceptance & submit your Deposit by this date Notify your RMHS Counselor of what College you will be attending May 18th: Attend RMHS Senior Scholarships Awards Night (Invite Only) @ 6:00p.m. in the HGPAC May 27th: Last day for Seniors!
