SENIOR YEAR “ACTION PLAN” Attend your Senior Audit - Starts next week during the school day. We will send passes to students with their audit time. Standardized Testing (ACT & SAT Tests) SAT - www.collegeboard.org Sept. 6th for Oct. 5th test ACT www.act.org Sept. 20th for Oct. 26th test Fee waivers are available for students with free/reduced lunch. College Night/Aquinas College - Tues. Oct. 15th 6:00- 7:30pm College Visit/Job Shadow (2 School excused absences per semester) MME (April 14-16, 2020)-For those who have not taken. - No retakes allowed
FINISH STRONG! Maintain a strong schedule, good attendance and grades. Utilize academic resources such as Classroom teachers, CATS, Khan Academy.
College Campus Visits & Applications How to sign up for a on campus college visit Log onto the college website. Search for “visit college” option on Admissions page to reserve a tour date and time. In addition to the general tour, we recommend arranging appointments with specific academic offices, financial aid, etc. Application deadlines vary, but we strongly recommend application submissions by mid-October in order to receive maximum consideration for college-based scholarship consideration (specific academic programs, competitions, etc.). Please check college websites to verify deadlines. Many colleges have Early Action or Notification for admissions and scholarships.
NHS COLLEGE APPLICATION PROCEDURE Transcript requests must be requested through Naviance Student Letters of recommendation (requested via Naviance Student) require 5-7 working days. Students applying to Common Application schools MUST request letters from NV staff through Naviance Student, NOT their Common App. account. ACT/SAT test scores need to be sent to each college being applied to.

Non-Degree Programs GRCC Workforce Training Weekly information sessions. Monthly enrollment. Most programs run 20 weeks (approx. 34 hrs/wk.) Program examples include: Auto Tech., Computer Support Tech., CNC Tech., Construction, Med. Assist., Welding. grcc.edu/jobtraining/programs
NCAA & NAIA Students who wish to participate in athletics at Division I, Division II, or NAIA colleges must be certified by the NCAA or the NAIA Eligibility Centers Core curriculum requirements and test scores must meet eligibility standards. Please schedule an appointment with the Counseling Office for more specific information. FINANCIAL AID AND SCHOLARSHIPS Financial Aid Meeting: October 9, 2019-6:30pm Financial Aid Workshop: Nov. 14, 2019-6-8pm 2020-19 FAFSA available Oct. 1st. State of Michigan deadline - March 1, 2019 Check prospective college websites regarding additional financial aid requirements. Advance Placement Testing Changes Testing window - May 4 - 15, 2020 Test ordering date has moved to the fall!!! Oct. 1st - Student test ordering deadline A.P. exam fee is $94.00. Free/Reduced fee $$62, less state waive. ?? $40/exam, due Oct. 1. (non-refundable after Oct. 1) Late order fee - $40 after deadline Benefits of early ordering Significantly reduces bubbling of answer sheets Quicker start to the exam Increased likelihood of earning a score of 3+ Free resources with feedback and practice questions throughout the year Topic Questions Personal Progress Checks
SPRING 2020 College commitment: May 1st, 2020 Students must make a final decision on the institution they will be attending A.P. Testing: May 4th - May 16th, 2020 CLEP Testing: Prior to fall college semester (Check with selected college if interested) Graduation: Wed., May 27th, 2020
