Managing Expectations Realistic expectations are modified multiple times as you progress through the process of learning new career-readiness information and practicing new career-readiness skills. With each layer of new academic information and career skills development, practice and assessment of practice, provides new information about additional information and skills that are needed. This process of learning, practice, & assessment; then, learning, practice, & assessment; continues throughout your career. Mapping out the steps from intern to CEO will be revised multiple times over the course of your career. Students attending the same school, pursuing the same degree and major, earning the same grade point average can have vastly different career outcomes, due to individual differences and preparation. Dream Job/Goals/Opportunities Questions for out-of-class exploration: What is your dream job/career? How are you preparing for that job/career? What are your short and long term goals?
