On the Ball ! In this lesson, students will create a slideshow of instructions for the fundamental skills for a sport they love. They will record “how-to” videos for each skill and insert those videos on the slides. Before the lesson: Post to Google Classroom: Video tutorials to help kids learn about the skills they will teach: Soccer, Baseball, Pitching a Baseball, Volleyball, Basketball, Football Optional: a link to this slideshow Print a copy of the Presentation Plan for each student. Review steps for students to create a new Google Slides presentation to turn in on Google Classroom. 4th Grade

Create a slideshow to teach others the skills you need for that sport. Pick a sport... Create a slideshow to teach others the skills you need for that sport. You will create 1 slide for each skill to include: Name of the skill Steps for the skill Video demonstration Plan Read and explain instructions; give students a printed copy of the presentation plan.

Use your plan to begin your Google Slideshow. Create a title slide. Create one slide per skill. Type the name of the skill Type the steps for performing that skill Leave room for your demonstration videos. Review instructions with students. Model skills as necessary: Adding new slides Formatting text (changing font, size, etc.) Adding Transitions (Click Slide...change transition...change in window to the right) Reorganizing the order of slides (drag and drop slides in a different spot)

Work with a partner to record your videos. (Demonstrate each skill.) Upload your videos to Google Drive. Open your slideshow. For each skill, click insert video and select the video from your Google Drive to insert it. Review instructions with students. Model as necessary.
