Presentation transcript:

AdHoc Committee 2018 (AHC) Created by CSC 2018 with this task: To evaluate the current structure of World Service from a broad point of view and report to CSC 2019 with possible Motions for action. The evaluation shall include the structural relationship; that is the distinctions, boundaries and roles, of the Fellowship in contrast to those of Co-Dependents Anonymous, Inc., the Corporation, as well as other possibly worthwhile areas of improvement. The committee shall issue Quarterly Service Reports to the Fellowship.

Members Active: Evie S, CT, Chair John R, PA, Secretary Chris J, IL Eric S, CO Florence F, MD Judi T, MA Liliana R, Colombia Lisa B, NV   Inactive: Barbara D, NorCal Jeanne B-J, TN Addie M, SoCal   Previous contributing members who resigned: Allan B., SoCal Leo C, CT Stijn, Netherlands

Society at large has a hierarchical structure similar to a symphony orchestra.

Jazz ensemble – not hierarchical Jazz ensemble – not hierarchical. Instead musicians harmonize and cooperate without one leader.

Since last CSC the AHC focused on… Established committee procedure via group conscience process Identifying major concerns in current CoDA service structure Gathering information from other 12 Step programs Clarifying Fellowship and Corporation distinction Committee did not focus on this board or any board in particular. In World Service trusted servants have two hats - FS and Corp. We felt clarification and distinction between these hats was important. Motion 1 is not about changing structure or procedure. We felt that this clarification was important to provide foundation for additional work.

Motion 1

AHC Goals We will work collaboratively with the CoDA and CoRe boards and the standing committees to:  Support the understanding that our primary purpose is to carry the CoDA message to other codependents who still suffer Improve the effectiveness and efficiency of our service work by better balancing how we use our financial resources Establish the awareness that the CSC is primarily the meeting of the Fellowship at which the board and committees report and receive direction for their work over the next year We will suggest ways to ensure that institutional memory is not lost and that people new to positions learn about and respect the decisions made previously We will seek ways to increase service participation and commitment at the world level We will seek structural improvements to support the above goals
