A Ligand-Based Approach to the Control of Supramolecular Topology and Preparation of Electrochromic Materials Joshua R. Farrell, Department of Chemistry, College of the Holy Cross, Worcester, MA 01610 We are using hybrid pyridine/thiophene ligands attached to late transition metals to prepare new polyelectrochromic materials (materials that change color depending on an applied voltage). These materials have potential applications as sensors for Lewis bases or anions through changes in either the color or their conductivity.
