Interpersonal This intelligence finds the nuance in feelings, motivations, intentions, and moods of other people. It involves the ability to work cooperatively with others; which, in turn, involves the ability to communicate, verbally and non-verbally. People with this intelligence are likely to be: Teachers Therapists Politicians Managers Salespeople Arbitrators Public relations Religious leaders These people are "people smart" and prefer: Paired sharing Conflict mediation Role playing Interactive games and exercises Group and peer teaching Group brainstorming sessions Social gatherings Simulations

Intrapersonal These people are"self smart" and prefer: : Individualized instruction Independent study Self-paced learning Private time for study, reflection or meditation Options for working on own Reflection and journal keeping time Personal connections Self-esteem activities To know one's self and trust one's intuition are aspects of this intelligence. The person with this dominant intelligence tends to process individually rather than in groups. This intelligence has the keen ability to watch oneself as if an outside observer. Naturalist These people are "nature smart" and prefer: Field trips and time outdoors Expeditionary activities Classification and activities that find the connections Hands-on experiments Activity write-ups The naturalist is drawn into all elements of the physical world. This intelligence has the ability to see organic systems and their inter-relatedness; in the process, using the natural world as the central organizing principle of life. People likely to have this intelligence include: Nature writers Anthropologists Biologists Physicians Natural healers Conservationists

Some points to keep in mind about Multiple Intelligences: Everyone possesses all eight intelligences, to a greater or lesser degree. It's the combination of how the intelligences operate together that defines a person's learning style. Most people can develop each intelligence to an averagelevel of competency. Some can develop all eight and enjoy a rich level of performance. Some cultures value certain intelligences over others.
