how I use these plans! TIPS + TRICKS Putting my subplan template together is one of the tasks I do before the school year starts. Even if I don’t have all the information, I can create a Skelton plan of the information. For the most part, these subplan pages stay the same and require very little maintenance during the school year: Contact information About our program Our staff Our students Classroom rules Behavior management Room ____ during the day Behavior Intervention Plan page Lesson plan – time + location and learning groups. The only time I make changes is if a new student and/or staff member qualifies, moves, or I change my own personal policy. When I’m planning an absence or getting ready for a sick day, I update: What’s happening during the week (check my calendar + school calendar) Lesson plans + directions (include attachments) Putting in the time in the beginning of the school year will make getting ready for a substitute so much easier. I started using this template in the middle of the 2018-2019 school year and it relieved SO MUCH stress when working on my subplans. Make any adjustments to fit your program. Every single special education set up is different– make this template work for you!
