The Med-Chi Lectures Aberdeen Medico-Chirurgical Society Founded 1789 Fellowship │ Education │ Heritage Thursday 3rd October 2019 – 7pm The Med-Chi Hall “How to Train Doctors to Deliver Healthcare in an Austere Environment” Aberdeen Medico-Chirurgical Society The Med-Chi Hall, Foresterhill at 7pm After graduating from Aberdeen University in 1983, Brigadier Robin Simpson joined the Army where he undertook parachute training and then completed officer training at Sandhurst. He has served in various parts of the world including Northern Ireland, Germany, Hong Kong, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq, Cyprus and Afghanistan. In 1995 he became Defence Professor of General Practice at the Royal Centre for Defence Medicine and was appointed Postgraduate Dean of the Defence Medical Services in March 2015. He has been an MRCGP examiner for nearly 25 years. He was appointed Queens Honorary Surgeon in January 2018. His research interests focus on the care of patients on the battlefield and making GPs more aware of veterans' health needs.
