Math and Physics MATH courses you may need to take before Calculus, Biostatistics, Physics, and Chemistry courses MAT 1050 College Algebra This course is a pre-requisite for pretty much every 1000-level MAT and STA courses. If you do not have an AP credit or a ALEKS passing score, you need to take it. MAT 1060 Trigonometry As of now, this course is required for PHY 1210/L or MAT 1140 (if you want to take the one year calculus). If you do not have AP credits or a ALEKS passing score, you need to take it. Please see the NEW development below regarding this course. Examples: MAT 1050 (≥C) or ALEKS  MAT 1200 Calculus for Life Sciences MAT 1050 AND MAT 1060 (≥C); OR ALEKS  MAT 1140 Calculus I MAT 1050 OR MAT 1060 (≥C) OR ALEKS  STA 1300 Biostatistics MAT 1060, MAT 1140, new MAT 1200 (≥C-), OR ALEKS  PHY 1210/L Physics I (Motion, Fluids, and Heat) New! Starting F2020, MAT 1200 will include trigonometry! This change will allow the “new MAT 1200” to be used as the pre-requisite for PHY 1210/L. If you take the new MAT 1200, you no longer need to take MAT 1060. Here is the tentative timeline to roll out the new MAT 1200: (MAT 1050)  new MAT 1200 [starting Fall 2020]  PHY 1210/L [new MAT 1200 as pre-requisite; starting Spring 2021] ] or Please always verify pre-requisites in the University Catalog
