HOMEWORK Posted on our school website and will be copied into their HW Notebook It is expected that homework be done on a daily basis. Students copy homework each day in their notebook. Homework is a review of the day’s work. Supplies – Art supplies optional (double set) No HW is graded as a zero, no make up HW will be accepted unless emergency/absence Incomplete HW is graded as a 50 Complete HW is graded as a 100 Sign each assignment every night
REMINDERS Our classroom has an A.C. unit, please have your child bring in a sweater. Please be sure to check for notices everyday. If your child is absent, please send them in with a doctor’s note or a note from you. If your child’s dismissal is ever different from what is the norm, please email, call the school, or send in a note. If you would like your child to be a Red Star Walker, send in a note. Math Routines Meant as warm-ups before our math lesson Dot Talks Number Talks Allow students to talk about their math thinking instead of “right/correct answers” Learn new strategies from peers Practice communication skills
Fact Fluency “Fluently multiply and divide within 100, using strategies such as the relationship between multiplication and division (e.g., knowing that 8 × 5 = 40, one knows 40 ÷ 5 = 8) or properties of operations. By the end of Grade 3, know from memory all products of two one-digit numbers.” By December, all students will be held accountable to knowing their 11 and 12 facts.
