Presentation transcript:

Warm Up : October 2 What was your response to reading In Good Form? Explain. How does the content of In Good Form affect your reading of Field Trip? How does O’Brien’s technique, illustrated in this vignette, add to the overall meaning of the text?

Learning Targets To establish a list of vocabulary words that are challenging on an independent level. To write a creative, personal piece using O’Brien’s vignette form.

Vocabulary Work Throughout the past several vignettes, I have not reminded you to take notes on vocabulary. Take 15 minutes to look over the vignettes, starting with “Stockings” and ending with “Field Trip” and list 10 personal vocabulary terms. Using whatever tools you have, define the terms you’ve listed in your journals.

Personal Vignette! Spend 15 minutes today writing out one of your personal vignettes (rough writing is FINE). Look in your journal for our first lesson on vignettes (September 17th) to find your notes on it. If you have no idea what to do, just write for 15 minutes about one of your subtopics from that day.

Homework Read The Ghost Soldiers, using the style analysis handout to guide your reading. Two options with notes: Answer questions from each category/domain. OR Write a strong, all-inclusive summary of how O’Brien’s style affects the meaning of this vignette DUE MONDAY, 10/6 GET A MENTOR!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
