Do you remember what is a tissue? Concept of Tissues Do you remember what is a tissue? A tissue is a group of cells that have the same structure that work together to carry out the same function. We shall look at plant and animal tissues.

Range of plant and animal tissues PLANT TISSUSES: In plants there are two types of cells. These are: Meristematic tissues and Permanent tissues. Now lets look at each of these types of tissues

Range of plant and animal tissues Meristematic tissues are tissues that are made up of cells that are actively dividing to form new cells. Permanent tissues are made up of cells that no longer divide, their structure has changed so that they are able to perform a particular function.

Range of plant and animal tissues There are 4 different type of animal tissues. These are: Epithelial tissue Connective tissue Muscle tissue Nerve tissue

Range of plant and animal tissues Epithelial Tissue This is your lining and covering tissue It is found lining and covering the surfaces of your body. Some examples are the columnar epithelium and squamous epithelium tissue.

Range of plant and animal tissues Connective Tissue This refers to tissue that connects, supports, binds, or separates other tissues or organs. Some examples are blood and bone tissue. Muscle Tissue This is the tissue that makes up muscles in an organism. Examples are smooth and cardiac muscles.

Range of plant and animal tissues Nerve Tissue This refers to the tissue that makes up the nervous system. Some examples are motor and sensory nerves.

terminology Aerial parts: refers to all the parts of the plant that are found above the ground. Meristematic tissues: are tissues that are made up of cells that are actively dividing to form new cells. Permanent tissues: are made up of cells that no longer divide, their structure has changed so that they are able to perform a particular function. Tissue: is a group of cells that have the same structure that work together to carry out the same function.
