NATIONAL REPORT INDONESIA TSUNAMI EARLY WARNING SYSTEM (INATEWS)

Earthquake and Tsunami Hazard in Indonesia The territory of Indonesia is located on the "Ring of Fire": 295 active faults and 5 subduction zones (1. Sunda subduction, 2. Banda subduction, 3. North Sulawesi subduction, 4. Maluku sea subduction and 5. Subduction of North Papua) Indonesia is one of the most active seismic zones in the world 46% of the coastline of Indonesia is tsunami prone (BMKG, 2001) Sumber: Pusgen (2017) 2

Launching of InaTEWS Indonesia Tsunami Early Warning System Since 11 November 2008 in BMKG The InaTEWS Main Products are Earthquake and Tsunami Warning Info Disseminated within 5 minutes after the earthquake occurs Tsunami early warning system based on a Decision Support System (DSS) with 18000 tsunami scenarios Target of Indonesia Tsunami Early Warning System : Rapid detection of earthquakes and providing tsunami early warnings to stakeholders and stakeholders. Appropriate response from the community to reduce and minimize the impact of disasters.

Road Map of Earthquake and Tsunami Monitoring System <1990: It took 24 hours to determine EQ parameters (analog system) 1990-2005 : It took 30-60 minutes to determine EQ Parameters (Sistem Digital Telemetri-Radio Link) 2008-2017: Disseminate EQ Info & Tsunami Early Warning within 5 minutes (Digital Telemetry-Satellite System), 4500 tsunami scenarios 2018: Increase EQ Info & Tsunami Early Warning Dissemination speed within +/- 3 minutes , 18000 tsunami scenarios, establishment of SOP InaTEWS 4.0, Focal Mechanism Product Plan 2019: Disseminate EQ Info & Tsunami Early Warning within 3 minutes, Inundation Map, Mobile Warning Receiver Ssystem - WRS 4.0 ) 2005-2008: Disseminate EQ Info & Tsunami Early Warning within 7-10 minutes (Digital Telemetry-Satellite System), InaTEWS Development Period

PETA USULAN JARINGAN MONITORING TSUNAMI CONCEPT DESIGN OF EARTHQUAKE EARLY WARNING SYSTEM (EEWS) FOR InaTEWS 2020 - 2021 When the earthquake occurs, within seconds BMKG determines the location and strength based on the recorded P wave. BMKG provides earthquake early warning (EEWS) before destructive waves (S waves) arrive at areas that will have an impact on earthquakes, especially those with vital facilities
