X Window X Window System ♦ X Window System is an advanced, graphical computing and network environment, designed as a multi-user system. ♦ X is the foundation for the graphical user interface (GUI). ♦ Provides low-level mechanism for managing graphics display. ♦ Linux Provides two types of standard X Window systems. ► KDE ► GNOME

X Window ♦ KDE (Korn Desktop Environment) is a network transparent modern desktop environment for Linux workstations. ► It provides a friendly graphical interface. ♦ KDE Desktop Contd… KDE

X Window ♦ KDE provides four desktops to display multiple actions. ♦ Panel toolbar contains the menu icon, web browser, printer, word processor and other commonly used applications. KDE

X Window Customizing Desktop ♦ Desktop can be customized by changing its background, themes and display settings.
