E-learning course at ITIS Giorgi

E-learning consists in delivering education to students who are not physically "on site". Cosè E- learning

Teachers and learners may communicate at times of their own choosing by exchanging electronic media, or through technology allowing them to communicate in real time. Teachers Students

Distance education that requires a physical on-site presence for any reason (i.e. examinations) is considered to be a hybrid or blended course of study. Blended learning

1.Synchronous technology (telephone, vedeoconferencing, webconferencing) is a mode of online delivery where all participants are "present" at the same time. It requires a timetable to be organized. The types of available technologies used in distance education are divided into two groups: Syncronous

2. Asynchronous technology(audiocassette, , forums, print material, fax, videocassette). is a mode of online delivery where participants access course materials on their own schedule. Learners are not required to be together at the same time.

ITIS Giorgi has implemented an e-learning course for the school year e-learning course

The e-learning course, dealing with English as language 2, has started at the beginning of September. Three classes have been included with a total of 20 learners. Learners have been enrolled in a virtual class on Indire Platform.

Students have first been enabled, in presence, to use the platform and its contents.

Later they have been urged to follow the distance education mainly through asyncronous tools, since they are able to choose the best time to enter the platform, taking into account the time limits due to their job and family obligations. Neverthless they have been given the possibility of a syncronous approch (through Skype), in case they would have had the opportunity of using it.

Since testing the tutor on-line activities is our primary objective, the course has been dealing with: grammar topics included in the curricula; Comprehension texts from including listenings to the texts, explanations of the main words and expressions, formative tests; Jokes to increase English vocabulary quickly and easily. You can laugh and learn at the same time! Vocabulary research on specific fields; Idioms; Support to any learners request.
