Some Opportunities to reduce the Iron-Oxide Contaminants in Raw Materials of Glasses using Permanent Magnets Csilla, Paróczai, Dr. László A., Gömze University of Miskolc Department of Ceramics and Silicate Engineering MicroCAD, Miskolc, March 2006
Abstract MicroCAD, Miskolc March Csilla, Paróczai - Dr. László A., Gömze The art of state is to show the efficiency of the magnetic cleaning of mineral raw materials of glasses. We used the model CMT 5 magnetic trap, in which there are five magnetic tubes. We cleaned all types of mineral with this magnetic trap ten times. After the cleaning we examined the compound of materials, which stick on the magnets. These materials mainly contain metal-oxides, especially iron and titan-oxides. In this article the results of these research and examination are showed.

Summary When we compared the different raw-materials we got the following order: the feldspar is the most polluted, the next is the limestone, then the dolomite and the least polluted is the quartz sand. When we used up a known mixture of glass factory, we got: although the most contaminant get into the melt with the quartz sand, but if we add the contamination of dolomite and feldspar, the summation is beyond the contaminant of quartz sand. We analyzed the magnetic separated materials, and we established that the used magnet able to detach the private contaminant and the other contaminant which are in the quartz grain or surface of the quartz grain. The examined raw.materials in the most percentage contains iron, titanium és nickel and these oxide. We can reduce the amount of these undesirable materials with magnet, so we get a long sight better raw-materials. MicroCAD, Miskolc March Csilla, Paróczai - Dr. László A., Gömze
