America belongs to We the people. It does not belong to the Congress It does not belong to special interest It does not belong to the Courts It belongs to We the people….

Original Chief Justice John Jay Providence [God] has given to our people the choice of their rulers, and it is the dutyas well as the privilege and interest –of our Christian nation to select and prefer Christians for their rulers.

A. We often vote party over principle.

Mark Twain Said: The American Christian is a straight and clean and honest man.... But the moment he comes forwards to exercise a public trust he can be confidently counted upon to betray that trust in nine cases out of ten, if party loyalty shall require it.... There are Christian Private Morals, but there are no Christian Public Morals, at the polls, or in the Congress or anywhere else– except here and there and scattered around like lost comets in the solar system (Christian Science, ).

III. We the people who do vote do not all vote our convictions. A. We often vote party over principle. B. We often vote money over morals. A. We often vote party over principle. B. We often vote money over morals.

There is no truth more thoroughly established, than that there exists in the economy and course of nature, an indissoluble union between virtue and happiness…. [So] the propitious smiles of Heaven can never be expected on a nation that disregards the eternal rules of order and right, which Heaven itself has ordained. Gods Blessing is Based on Virtue

Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people (Prov. 14:34).

III. We the people who do vote do not all vote our convictions. A. We often vote party over principle. B. We often vote money over morals. C. We often vote compromise over convictions. A. Politicians Claim… Politicians Often Claim… I am personally opposed to abortion, but I am not going to legislate that others cannot have an abortion. I am personally opposed to abortion, but I am not going to legislate that others cannot have an abortion. But would they say… I am personally against murder, rape, and racism, but I would never support laws against these evils? I am personally against murder, rape, and racism, but I would never support laws against these evils?

Politicians Often Claim… You cant legislate morality. You cant legislate morality. Yet, it is a fact that: 1.All laws legislate morality (by saying this is right and that is wrong). 2.These same people support laws that legislate moral rights for homosexuals, terrorists, and mothers who kill their unborn babies. 3.So, The question is not whether morality should be legislated, but whose morality should be legislated.

Rev. Billy Graham If America is to survive, we must elect more God-centered men and women to public officeindividuals who will seek Divine guidance in the affairs of state.

Dr. James Dobson We live in a represent- ative form of govern- ment where we are its leaders. It means that every citizen has a responsibility to participate in the decisions that are made, and that includes people of faith using their influence for what is moral and just.

Unto Render Unto Caesar…. In our form of government, we not only should obey Caesar (Rom. 13:1); we can elect Caesar. In our form of government, we not only should obey Caesar (Rom. 13:1); we can elect Caesar.

A Half Loaf is Better Than No Loaf

Conclusion We the people could solve most of our political problems if we-- 1) All registered to vote 2) All voted 3) All voted our convictions. If we dont, then we the people have no one to blame but ourselves! President James Garfield ( ) The people are responsible for the character of their Congress. If that body be ignorant, reckless, and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness, and corruption.

It is better to light one candle than to curse the darkness! It is better to light one candle than to curse the darkness!

If the light goes out, whose fault will it be?

Edward Everett Hale I am only one, but still I am one. I cannot do everything, but still I can do something. And because I cannot do everything, I will not refuse to do the something that I can do.
