Career Pathway Is a coherent, articulated sequence of rigorous academic and career/technical courses, usually beginning in the 9th grade and leading to a diploma, associate degree, baccalaureate degree and beyond. 2

Career Pathways in Program Concentrations Engineering & Technology CONCENTRATION Electronics Energy Systems Engineering Engineering Graphics & Design Manufacturing Career Pathways in Program Concentrations This slide represents the HEALTHCARE SCIENCE CONCENTRATION and the PATHWAYS aligned to that concentration. Each pathway has curriculum framework organized as Georgia Performance Standards and integrated with both RELATED math and Language Arts academic standards. In addition, the framework includes CTAE Foundational Skills. 9

Manufacturing Pathway 21.44100 Foundations of Manufacturing and Material Science 21.44500 Robotics and Automated Systems 21.44400 Production Enterprise This slide represents three sequenced classes in the Manufacturing Pathway for students entering the 9th grade in 2008-2009 the “ONE RELATED” class is not required for the new graduation rule. The new graduation rule has CTAE listed as an “elective” with Modern Language/Latin and Fine Arts. CLICK 10

Documenting Career Pathways Gather data on what Career Pathways as aligned with your strategic industry are currently offered and planned for the future in each Work Ready Region Work with your Work Ready Region to ensure local high schools align their career pathway offerings with regional industry sectors Workshops in regions for administrators, counselors, teachers on industry sectors Awareness that secondary students are the emerging workforce 29

Education Liaison To assist the Work Ready Region Team Leader in gathering information identifying all resources from secondary (high schools) and post secondary (technical colleges and four year colleges/universities) located in the Work Ready Region in regards to available GA Career Pathways 30
