Spyder Controller Features Integrated Honeywell Actuator Reduce installation costs. AC synchronous actuator increases life of the controller and reduces life cycle costs DC Power Supply Power external field devices without having to add additional power sources. Saves money and time. Integrated On-board Precision Pressure Sensor Floating Actuator Housing Actuator can float inside housing to increase life due to damper shaft run-out Programmable Whatever you need Spyder can be programmed to solve the problem. Actuator De-Clutch Removable Terminal Blocks Hard to reach places are easy to deal with. Color Coded Inputs and Outputs Reduce wiring errors and speeds up troubleshooting. Sylk Bus A two wire, polarity insensitive bus that provides both 18 Vdc power and communications between a Sylk-enabled sensor and a Sylk-enabled controller. Network Jack and Service Pin Easy access network Jack and service pin for quick installation and easy service.

New Licensing Scheme The Spyder Tool checks the license for features As of Spyder Tool 4.X and later There are two Spyder features SpyderProgrammable for the Lon Spyders SpyderBACnetProgrammable for the BACnet Spyders Spyder features are only available on WEBS branded JACE’s and Supervisor Engineering Demo’s W-ENG-AX-DEMO
Spyder-ILC The Spyder-ILC is an individually licensed controller Spyder-ILC controllers will accept a download from the Spyder Tool regardless of the brand of workstation/JACE In other words, features within the license are ignored The Spyder-ILC’s have the same OS number with an “-ILC” suffix Example: PUL6438S-ILC, PVB6436AS-ILC, PVL4022AS-ILC 20% adder per Spyder-ILC for licensing fee No one else in the industry offers a programmable controller that can be programmed on ANY AX front end! Like all Spyders, the ILC can only be sold to Honeywell ACS or ACI contractors

Scenario – Existing Support Existing WEBS job needs to be expanded 1. Keep existing workbench and tool; add Spyders as needed License change doesn’t affect a job already installed 2. Get new license with correct Spyder Features If using 403 or 545, the appropriate feature is needed Existing job with 3rd party JACE and Spyders, needs to be expanded 2. Upgrade to latest Spyder Tool and use ILC to expand Previous Spyders must be brought in as 3rd party devices and you won’t be able to download to them

Sylk™ Bus Sylk is a two wire, polarity insensitive bus that provides both 18 Vdc power and communications between a Sylk-enabled sensor and a Sylk-enabled controller Devices Zio LCD Wall Module TR70 TR70-H Future TR20 Series Sylk IO Addressing the combined needs of the Building Automation and Field Device team Using Sylk-enabled sensors saves I/O on the controller and is faster and cheaper to install since only two wires are needed and the bus is polarity insensitive. Sylk sensors are configured using the latest release of the Spyder® Tool for WEBPro and WEBStation.
