Welcome to our celebration of Mass Take time before we start to prepare; think about who or what you want to pray for during our celebration. We will pray, listen, eat and receive God’s blessing together as one family. We gather together ....... In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit Amen The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Spirit be with you all or The Lord be with you And with your spirit

We remind ourselves that God forgives us You were sent to heal the contrite of heart: Lord have mercy Lord, have mercy You came to call sinners: Christ have mercy Christ, have mercy You are seated at the right hand of the Father to intercede for us: Lord, have mercy Lord, have mercy

I confess to almighty God and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do, through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault; Therefore I ask blessed Mary ever-Virgin, all the Angels and Saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to pray for me to the Lord our God.

We praise and glorify God Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to people of good will. We praise you, we bless you, we adore you, we glorify you, we give you thanks for your great glory, Lord God, heavenly King, O God, almighty Father.

Lord Jesus Christ, Only Begotten Son, Lord God, Lamb of God, Son of the Father, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us; you take away the sins of the world, receive our prayer; you are seated at the right hand of the Father, have mercy on us.

For you alone are the Holy One,. you alone are the Lord, For you alone are the Holy One, you alone are the Lord, you alone are the Most High, Jesus Christ, with the Holy Spirit, in the glory of God the Father. Amen. We listen to the Opening Prayer and offer our own intentions as the priest prays ...

Liturgy of the Word The Word of the Lord Thanks be to God We listen to passages from Scripture. These are the stories and accounts of our relationship with God. At the end of the reading: The Word of the Lord Thanks be to God

The Gospel of the Lord Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ Before the Gospel: The Lord be with you And with your Spirit A reading from the Holy Gospel according to .... Glory to you O Lord At the end of the Gospel: The Gospel of the Lord Praise to you, Lord Jesus Christ

We profess our faith I believe in one God, the Father almighty, maker of heaven and earth, of all things visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Only Begotten Son of God, born of the Father before all ages. God from God, Light from Light, true God from true God, begotten, not made, consubstantial with the Father;

Through him all things were made. For us men and for our salvation he came down from heaven, and by the Holy Spirit was incarnate of the Virgin Mary and became man. For our sake he was crucified under Pontius Pilate, he suffered death and was buried, and rose again on the third day in accordance with the Scriptures. He ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and his kingdom will have no end.

I believe in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the giver of life, who proceeds from the Father and the son, who with the Father and the Son is adored and glorified, who has spoken through the prophets. I believe in one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church. I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins and I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and the life of the world to come. Amen

Prayers of intercession Often called the Bidding Prayers, we are invited to pray for the people and situations across the world that need our prayers. At the end of each prayer, we are invited to respond Reader; Lord, in your mercy All; Hear our prayer We then ask Mary to pray with and for us. Hail Mary, full of grace, the Lord is with thee. Blessed art thou among women, and blessed is the fruit of thy womb, Jesus. Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us sinners, now and at the hour of our death. Amen.

We offer thanks to God Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, We bring gifts of bread and wine to symbolise all the blessings that we receive from God Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received the bread we offer you: fruit of the earth and work of human hands, it will become for us the bread of life. Blessed be God for ever.

Blessed are you, Lord God of all creation, for through your goodness we have received the wine we offer you: fruit of the vine and work of human hands, it will become our spiritual drink. Blessed be God for ever.

Pray, brothers and sisters, that my sacrifice and yours may be acceptable to God, the almighty Father. May the Lord accept the sacrifice at your hands for the praise and glory of His name, for our good, and the good of all His holy Church.

The Eucharistic Prayer The priest prays on our behalf this prayer of thanksgiving. We remember the great sacrifice of Jesus on the cross and the gift he gave us in his Body and Blood. During this prayer, the bread and wine are changed by the power of the Holy Spirit into the Body and Blood of Jesus The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. Lift up your hearts. We lift them up to the Lord. Let us give thanks to the Lord our God. It is right and just.

Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. This song of praise is sung with all the Angels and Saints; the whole family of God Holy, Holy, Holy Lord God of hosts. Heaven and earth are full of your glory. Hosanna in the highest. Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

The Mystery of Faith We proclaim your Death, O Lord, As we can never understand how bread and wine can change into the Body and Blood of Jesus, it is the great mystery of our faith We proclaim your Death, O Lord, and profess your Resurrection until you come again. or When we eat this Bread and drink this Cup, we proclaim your Death, O Lord, Save us, Saviour of the world, for by your Cross and Resurrection you have set us free

Great Amen The ‘Amen’ is our response to the presence of Jesus in the Eucharist. It is our way of saying ‘I agree’ to all the priest has prayed in our name during the Eucharistic Prayer. Through him, and with him, and in him O God, almighty Father, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and honour is yours for ever and ever Amen

The Lord’s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name; thy kingdom come, thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us; And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.

Deliver us, Lord, we pray, from every evil, graciously grant peace in our days, that, by the help of your mercy, we may be always free from sin and safe from all distress, as we await the blessed hope, and the coming of our Saviour, Jesus Christ. For the kingdom, the power and the glory are yours now and forever. Amen.

The peace of the Lord be with you always. And with your spirit. With a handshake, hug or kiss, we offer each other a sign of peace. The Lord brings us peace, so we share it.

The Lamb of God As Jesus did at the Last Supper, the priest takes and breaks the large host so that it can be shared. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, have mercy on us. Lamb of God, you take away the sins of the world, grant us peace.

Behold the Lamb of God, behold him who takes away the sins of the world. Blessed are those called to the supper of the Lamb. Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my soul shall be healed.

Holy Communion We process to receive Holy Communion or God’s blessing from the ministers. It is a special time when we share in the gift of the Body and Blood of Jesus. If we do not normally receive Holy Communion, if we are not a Catholic for example, we are encouraged to come up for a blessing, crossing an arm across our chest to tell the minister that we want a prayer of blessing rather than Holy Communion.

Blessing and Dismissal This is an important part of our celebration. We come to Mass so that we can go back to our schools, homes and work nourished by what we have heard and received. The Lord be with you. And with your spirit. May almighty God bless you, the Father, and the Son and the Holy Spirit. Amen Go in peace, glorifying the Lord by your life. Thanks be to God

Thank you ....... ..... for coming to Mass ..... for joining in and praying so well together ..... to those who helped prepare and lead our celebration by reading, leading the music, showing us where to sit, distributing Holy Communion ....... ..... enjoy the rest of the day ..... and we hope to pray together again soon!
