Don’t Type it! OCR it! How to use an online OCR.

OCR Optical character reader. Optical character recognition. OCR is the electronic conversion of scanned images of handwritten, typewritten or printed text into machine-encoded text.

Online OCR http://www.onlineocr.net/default.aspx This one is free to use, easy to use and offers a word output. Convert scanned PDF to Word, Txt, Rtf Extract text from image (JPG, JPEG, BMP, TIFF, GIF) and convert into editable Word, Text, Excel, PDF, Html output formats. Converted documents look exactly like the original - tables, columns and graphics.

Recognizing text This is the hard part Onlineocr.net will give you plan text on the site, without any formatting. This can be hard to read and understand. Click the Download Output File link to download the word version of the text with the page layout.

Spell Check Run a spell check to catch all the missed text and miss read text from the OCR. It is a good idea to do a side by side comparison of the image and the word doc.
