Instructions Prior to the activity: Listen to Steve Reichs Drumming as this composition is based on the idea that performers join the performance one by one at different times, each playing their own rhythmic pattern. Activity: 1.Print out, cut out and laminate the scores on slides 8&9 and practice each part separately with the pupils. 2.When pupils are confident in playing their parts, show them slides 3-6 and explain to them that each performer will join the performance when they see their score/colour displayed. 3.Rehearse in groups and perform. Extension: Pupils can create their own rhythmic pattern on a blank template (slide 10).
