HISTORY OF NANAIMO: COAL MINING We love coal miners because they worked hard to earn a living. We are lucky because we have land to stand on; they worked underground. We thank you a lot. We are reading and studying about you.

NANAIMO’S HISTORY: THE BASTION The Bastion was used to protect settlers. It is a very old building!

NANAIMO PARKS There are over 10 different parks in Nanaimo. Our most favourite park in the whole world is Piper’s Lagoon!

NANAIMO EVENTS Kids love going to Nanaimo’s Bath Tub Races. The races happen every year. Families and kids love this festival!
