RIM3 Programme meeting Jan University of St Andrews Trinity College Dublin CERIF in Action Anna Clements & Scott Brander To develop a standard CERIF-XML schema and agreed vocabularies building on work done in earlier JISC projects such as Readiness4Ref, CRISPool, CERIFy, and IRIOS. Build standard, production-ready plug-ins to import and export data in this agreed format for CRIS, Repository and Research Council software and demonstrate the use of these plug-ins in live systems : exchanging data between partner institutions e.g. when an researcher moves to a new institution uploading grant-level information to RCUK ROS Produce roadmap with costs/benefits for adoption of this standard CERIF-XML approach for other HEIs and other use cases, in particular the development of an open source aggregator and portal for use by research pools and other consortia. RIM3 Programme meeting Jan University of St Andrews Trinity College Dublin CERIF in Action Anna Clements & Scott Brander Mapping issues Unique person IDs … so many ways  CRISPool: person-[UKPRN]-[Person InstID]  IRIOS: Generated UUIDs  CERIFy: Employee IDs from Incites  Some options: 1.LOD (Linked Open Data) or new External ID entity in CERIF 1.3 [hot of the press yesterday!]– relates on external ID to internal ID 2.Internal unique ID and IDs in Person and e.g. OrgUnit link tables 3.use a Classification scheme to carry the additional external IDs against cfPers as in CRISPool and R4R

RIM3 Programme meeting Jan University of St Andrews Trinity College Dublin CERIF in Action Anna Clements & Scott Brander Mapping issues Personal/Honorific Titles  CRISPool: not used?  IRIOS: uses cfPerson_Classfication  CERIFy: not used?  Suggest adding to CERIF semantics? Organisation Types  CRISPool: University > School > Department > etc.  IRIOS: Similar to CRISPool  CERIFy: Mapping roles in OrgUnit_EAddress  CERIF semantics list top-level only
